Run for the Bluebonnets
Get your running shoes on Bastrop! The 4th annual “Run for the Bluebonnets” 5K and kids’ 1K is slated to be held on Saturday, February 27th in Fisherman’s Park. This is a certified 5K (3.1 mile) course that begins and ends in Fisherman’s Park providing a flat course with a fast downhill finish. All proceeds benefit Bluebonnet Elementary School activities and stay in our community.
The kids 1K begins at 8:30 a.m., all kids running will receive a medal. The adult 5K begins at 9:00 a.m. Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in the following age groups: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus. All entries are also automatically entered into a grand prize drawing.
Early registration is now through February 15th and can be done online at www.runtex.com, click events and scroll to Run for the Bluebonnets. If you prefer to register by mail, you can call Bluebonnet Elementary at 308-1325 to have a form mailed or emailed to you.
